“Brewed in the spirit of Flyin’ Ryan Hawks, a Vermont freeskier who passed away during a competition in 2011.” A portion of the proceeds go to the charity started in his honor.
Hazy with a fine yet discernable particulate in suspension and decent head retention, smells of juicy citrus fruit and spring blossoms; nice blend of hop aromas here. The taste is semi-sweet, with a soft doughy character, light citrus fruit notes and a thick, full body. The finish is surprisingly juicy, citrus dominates here, as if there’s a little actual juice in the beer; bitterness level is low to moderate. Overall, it’s a great NE style IPA that manages to bring it’s own unique flair, a trend I tend to notice often from this brewery.
