I review the beers I drink

Sam Adams – New England IPA

A new release from Sam Adams that tries to recreate the success of Heady Topper and Boom Sauce. Very hazy, with a vibrant lemon color in bright light; head retention is solid. Smells of bright, citrusy hops, predominantly lemon, with herbal and floral aromas underneath. The taste is juicy and fruity, more citrus presence, orange and tangerine here, with a crisp bready malt base and a thick full body. The finish is moderately bitter, notes of citrus peel and tonic water, but very pleasant and doesn’t linger too long on the tongue. Overall, a very good beer, very flavorful and refreshing; it may not be as good as Heady, but it’s honestly not that far off and (I assume) it’s available nation wide.
