I review the beers I drink

Sam Adams – Sam ’76

Very excited to try this, a blend of an ale and a lager. Consequently, I wasn’t sure which glass to use, perhaps the Craft Pils would have been better, but I deferred to the brewery’s own glass.

Anyway, slightly hazy with a very quickly dissipating head, leaving a thin ring and lots of lacing; smells of grassy hops and clean lager yeast. The taste is crisp and dry, with notes of cheap adjunct grains, and a thin slick mouthfeel. The finish is dry with very low bitterness and more grassy and adjunct flavors that thankfully leave the palate quickly. Overall, WTF?! I really don’t get any ale notes from this, it’s just like a slightly hazy Corona, very disappointing.
