I review the beers I drink

Paulaner – Hefe-Weizen

Decided to make myself a weißwurstfrühstück this morning, and realized I’ve hardly reviewed any German weissbier on this site.

Very hazy with great head retention, smells of orange, banana, and a soft yeasty funk. The taste is semi-sweet with fruity notes of citrus and apple atop an ultra smooth full body to provide a soft doughy background. The finish is short and very low in bitterness, with more yeast flavors than hops, but a subtle herbal/earthy hop note is there. Overall, this is one of the greats among Bavarian beers, and it lives up to the hype. If you’re a fan of weissbier, you owe it to yourself to try this one.
